Vegan Donuts

Today is National Doughnut Day! And, you’re probably excited to learn that there are, in fact, vegan donuts! 🤗

However, let’s just get this out of the way first: I prefer to spell it donut. And, Merriam Webster said it’s ok. So, for me, it’s National Donut Day. 🤣

Vegan Donuts

Traditionally, most donuts contain milk and eggs. And, sometimes even the sugar may not be vegan-friendly.

On the contrary, vegan donuts are made with plant based milks and egg substitutes: such as JUST egg or other egg replacers, chia seed or flax eggs, banana, applesauce, or aquafaba.

Certain organic and health food grocery stores are now starting to carry their own vegan donuts (such as Sprouts and Whole Foods).

These vegan donuts from Whole Foods are absolutely amazing!

Unfortunately though, in the United States, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts have yet to release a vegan donut. However, if you live in the UK, you may just be lucky enough to enjoy Krispy Kreme’s vegan glazed donut.
