My Vegan Thanksgiving Menu
Full disclosure: not everyone enjoyed the homemade vegan turkey. 🙈 The flavor and texture was pretty good, and my second attempt working with seitan went much better than the first time! However, I’m finding that homemade plant based meats take a bit of practice (and a lot of open-mindedness!)
But, that’s why I love plant based cooking–I constantly get to experiment and have fun with it!
These are some of my favorite recipes to make for Thanksgiving:
- Seitan Turkey
- Garlic Mashed Potatoes
- I prefer to use oat milk or a mixture of oat and cashew milk for mashed potatoes.
- Mushroom Gravy
- I recommend Trader Joe’s Charles Shaw cabernet sauvignon (a.k.a. the “Two Buck Chuck”). Not only is it inexpensive and delicious, but it also happens to be vegan!
- Green Bean Casserole
- Stuffing
- Sweet Potato Casserole
- Roasted Colorful Carrots
- Cranberry Sauce
- “Buttermilk” Biscuits
- Pumpkin Pie
- Try this vegan whipped cream or other non-dairy whipped toppings.
- Pumpkin Bread
- This is similar to what I make. (I make my mom’s traditional recipe and replace the eggs with flax eggs.)
