Sometimes We Just Need A Hug

You know that hug: the one that, even if for an instant, makes all of your troubles disappear? This past year has been difficult and full of challenges for all of us, in so many different ways. Sometimes we need time to grieve or process things alone, in silence. Other times, we need to talk and laugh with a friend, relishing the noise. Or maybe we need to escape our realities for a moment through a TV show, exercise, or a good book. And sometimes, we just need a hug.

To me, this blog goes beyond a plant based diet and vegan lifestyle; this is a space of love, compassion, kindness, gratitude, and support.

One thing this past year has taught me is that you never know what people are enduring behind closed doors. Show loving kindness to everyone, no matter how you are treated in return. Give people grace and understanding. 

Perform random acts of kindness. You may never know how much that plate of cookies means to your neighbor or how desperately your friend needed that handwritten note of encouragement.

In a time where physical contact is limited, these precious hugs mean more to us than ever before.

So this is my virtual hug to you. To let you know that you are loved, and it’s going to be ok. 

No matter what life throws at us, by the grace of God, we can endure. Rely on those sweet hugs to help get you through.

And know that you are special, you are loved, and someone cares for you.
