Vegan Dishes from Every Continent
As you’ll see, just about any food dish that exists can be made into a delicious vegan option! 🤗
Africa
Peri-peri is a spicy chili sauce. The dish originated with Portuguese explorers in South African territories. Particularly Mozambique. It is classically very spicy. But, you can adjust the heat by removing chili seeds and ribs.
Serve with grilled tofu, baked tempeh, or seitan steaks.
My husband and I got engaged in South Africa on safari. So, Africa will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️
Antarctica
Ok, there’s not really a traditional dish from Antarctica. So, I made a vegan version of a lobster roll. Really flavorful! And cruelty free and sustainable!
Asia
This spinach curry is one of the most popular paneer curries in India. Paneer is an Indian cheese. This vegan version is made with tofu. Absolutely delicious!
I highly recommend checking out Vegan Richa. Her plant based recipes are amazing!
Australia
Anzac biscuits originated in the city of Adelaide. And, are associated with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC).
In Australia, “biscuits” are cookies. So enjoy these sweet treats, mate! 😉 These cookies are so super yummy!
Having lived in Australia for 5 years, Australia will always hold a special place in our hearts as well. ❤️ Some of the Aussie dialect is now part of my everyday language. Brekkie, anyone?? And yes, I’ll even catch myself calling someone “mate” from time to time. 🥰
Europe
The authentic German comfort dish, made with tofu! Super easy to make and really yummy!
North America
This spicy, hearty stew originated from Mexico. Traditionally made with pork, the vegan version is made with mushrooms. (Additionally, you can find canned hominy in ethnic aisles of most grocery stores.)
For a Canadian vegan dish, try this amazing poutine. And, for an American option, check out the best vegan burgers.
South America
Chimichurri originated in Argentina. Drizzle over grilled tofu, roasted veggies, salad, and even a vegan pizza. For a healthier option, replace some of the oil with water and blend well.
What are some of your favorite cuisines? Have you tried a vegan version of that dish yet? Which of these recipes are you excited to try? Let me know in the comments below!
How blessed to have been able to travel the world at such a young age. Each country represents something so special. Nothing like animals in their natural habitat. Oh how I would love walking along side of penguins! I’m hopeful that one day I too will be in Santorini looking out at the Mediterranean. One thing I loved about Australia (other than the beautiful people and the beautiful words they used when they spoke to you) was the beans for brekkie! Being a legume fan, I had to have them every time we went out. And each place had their own flair for flavor. YUM!!
God Bless!!
Yes, we know what a blessing the ability to travel is. ❤️ And we miss it!
If everyone would replace their breakfast bacon with beans, we’d be in a much better place, that’s for sure! 🌱
I believe I took that pic in Kings Park in Perth. I also think that’s where I ran after the pug!!
Great pix of you both!
Yes, both statements are correct. Thank you for your photography skills and love of dogs! 🤣
